Experiencing life’s bumpy ride, the never ceasing duties and tasks, the difficulties of your professional life and family life, how often do you hear yourself say “I need a holiday trip!”? Your life is chaotic with programs – job, schooling, washer / dryer, driving the little ones to all of their tasks, so it is no wonder that you feel hassled, stressed or on a rolling wheel that you can’t seem to get off from.
It’s possible that your work appears dull and boring, or your daily schedule feels forever stressful. At your work environment you start feeling you have got to the position where you are not able to take it anymore. You just about feel that you will become crazy if you do not take a break! What you most certainly will need is a ‘Change’ to reduce stress.
You tell yourself that you need a getaway, or tell yourself that you just have to get away from it all. But know what? You might in fact go off on one but it’s all there when you come back, and all of that blissful sense of well being ends in the first discussion at work, or even in the first hectic morning back in the routine.
I recall the earliest time I heard “A change is as good as a rest.” These were not wise words from old folks, or part of an pricey inspirational seminar – I saw and heard it on a cartoon program that my children were watching. It has stayed with me from the time, and I have applied it in my life the minute I have felt fed up, stressed or just plain bored to death.
For quite a lot of people, just the word “change” can be stressful. They link it to major events, like changing career, a household move or an event that involves a major effort on their part. The human mind naturally resents changes.
There are many changes that we can make that can renew us on a day by day basis, some serious and others pleasurable. We just have to convince our-self to at least try some pursuits, for if not, we will never know whether we enjoy them, and we will never find the activities which refreshes us the most.
Many of the alternatives for change are usually not things that we even in most cases consider a “change,” but they can indeed be things we can do to refresh our daily lives and build and maintain the balance we would need.
We all have got to find the basic qualities that help to make our lives pleasing and significant. These develop into the elements of our lives – the significant elements which makes us complete. Realizing these elements is not enough – the key is to obtain the balance of components that reflects the significance and priorities of our lives.
Not necessary to point out here, ‘change’ is just one of the various ways to relieve stress.There are of course more ways.
